Dr Lua founded Belief Family Clinic with the aim of providing quality healthcare. He is a Family Physician accredited by FPAB and also MOM registered Designated Workplace Doctor. He graduated from the National University of Singapore (NUS) with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS). After his MBBS, he has worked in various leading tertiary medical institutions and Polyclinic in Singapore. He continued his academic pursuit and obtained his Graduate Diploma in Family Medicine, and later on a Distinction in Graduate Diploma in Practical Dermatology from the Cardiff University. He has strong interests in pigmentary conditions and acne.

In April 2020, Dr Lua responded to the SG Healthcare Corps call and rendered help at the Community Care Facility (CCF) at the Singapore EXPO and later moved on to D'Resort CCF. In addition, he had served at a few dormitories looking after the foreign workers infected with COVID-19. Besides the management of COVID-19 patients, he was also involved in Vaccination Centre work.
His CCF stint ended in Dec 2021, but he continues to play his part in the Nation's fight against COVID-19 at Belief Family Clinic which is one of the PHPC SASH clinics. He also helps out in telemedicine consults for patients infected with COVID-19.
